Skeet Shooting with my Franchi I-12

One of the great things about living in the country is the access to the outdoors. Saturday afternoon we decided to hop on the four wheelers and head into the hills to enjoy some skeet shooting. It was only the second time for me to shoot my new Franchi I-12 Shotgun that I got for Christmas this year from my wife. I bought it at Cabelas at their grand opening of the Highland, UT store. What a cool retail experience for anyone remotely interested in the outdoors. We must of spent 2 hours just browsing and I only got to see 30% of the store spending most of my time in the gun department.
The Franchi I-12 shotgun is a great gun for the money. I was hoping to purchase a Benelli Super Black Eagle 12 Gauge but I just couldn’t bring myself to drop $1400 on a shotgun. The Franchi was half the price and nearly it’s equal. The weight was almost identical and the action was even closer. After shooting a few boxes of shells through it I am extremely happy with my purchase.

I went with my friend and business partner John Jacks who was breaking in his new Browning 12 Gauge. We were able to mount the skeet thrower on the back ofhis PolarisATV with some bungee cords. My brother-in-law Joel was also with us so we had a blast shooting doubles. We took turns operating the thrower so everyone got equal shooting time. We will probably go again this weekend as we need the shooting practice. None of us performed particularly well in the accuracy department. We’ll blame it on the high winds as an afternoon thunderstorm was just rolling in.
