Webmaster World Boston Notes
After lurking in the webmaster world forums for more than 3 years I decided it was high time to attend the conference and meet the people that make the webmaster world tick. Boston was a great setting for the conference and the Hynes convention center was adequate for our needs. I especially enjoyed the wireless internet access provided at the conference as I was packing my laptop around with me for note taking. We stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott at 88 Exeter street in the Copley Square area of downtown Boston. I took a copeous amount of notesduring the sessions and classes, here is a summary of what I picked up on.
Day one was started offby the keynoteaddress of thefamous author Malcolm Gladwell. His comments and ideas on the socialpower of people were quite fascinating. After that I attended a class that explored the virtues of local search and local based search engines. Guest speakers were founders of cool siteslike TrueLocal.com and LocalLaunch.com, even Google had a representative there to talk about local search. Next was a discussion about affiliate programs and building affiliate sites which is what we do at 100 Best, Inc.The afternoon session that I chose was about organic search and how to build a content rich website. I skipped the evening session because my head was swimming and I needed to take a break.
