In our neighborhood there are many young families with small children. On our particular street there were 7 new babies born in 2005 out of 8 households. 6 boys and 1 girl, another girl was added recently. The presence of children was one of the major factors that lured us to the neighborhood having lived in a deathly quiet culdesac surrounded by retired couples for nearly 18 months. Nothing against geezers, but that was the most boring and lifeless street I have ever seen in my life. The fact that our children had no friends to play with weighed heavily on our decision to relocate.
Pictured above is one of the many afternoons spent playing with our friends. Our youngest child Max is on the far right of the picture. Almost everyday after work the kids are happily playing outside and the neighbors all come out to visit and be friendly. It is everything you could ask for in a family friendly neighborhood. A quiet and safe culdesac dotted with thirty something couples and beautiful new homes and the sounds of chattering children at play. We will miss our many friends as we pack up our gear and head for the hills in May as we relocate for the last time, to the country. We have purchased 5.25 acres in Central Utah where we hope to settle down and grow old in our quest to escape from the bounds of suburbia.
